Brewery Bus Tourstravaganza
26/03/16
Hosted by St. Louis Brewers Guild
A bus tour of four breweries in the Saint Louis area in four hours.Twenty people packed into a limousine bus provided by Presidential Limousines.
Stop 1 - Urban Chestnut Brewing Company
The first stop was at the new Urban Chestnut brewery location. This spacious location has a great tap room. This nice logo in stainless steel is the first thing you see before setting your eyes on their brewing equipment.
We were able to get a personal tour of their high-tech eco-friendly brewing equipment.
Great personalized porthole into a brew kettle.
In the back of the brewery is a massive space for fermentation. Urban Chestnut has thought ahead and are ready for future expansion.
They have an nice array of beer aging in barrels.
In another area in the back of the brewery, there is a large bottling line.
Because of this nice setup, Urban Chestnut can give beer lovers this amazing selection of craft beers.
Stop 2 - Six Mile Bridge Brewing
The second stop was at Six Mile Bridge Brewing. This brewery has an intimate tasting room with nice artwork of their logo on bottles.
In the back of the brewery is a spacious area where they brew. This area is setup for major expansion for a brewery that is less than a year old. I can see this space getting filled up quickly in the years to come.
Owners, Ryan and Lindsay Sherring (husband and wife), explain to the group their brewing process and the beers they make.
This is their Irish Red Ale. For me, it is hard to find a tasty Irish Red, but SMB has done an amazing job with adding honey to give it a smoother flavor.
They currently have a small selection of fantastic beers, but I can see them adding a few more to their selection soon.
Stop 3 - Old Bakery Beer Company
The third stop was at Old Bakery Beer Company.Out front is this cool wooden wagon with their logo. It doubles as a sign to attract customers and it sets the mood for an old-timey feel.
When you first walk into the brewery, you can see the giant area where they brew the beer. The group was able to get a tour of the area.
This brewery is one out of 25 breweries in the nation to brew organic beer.
I can see this space packed in the next three years.
They have some tasty stouts chilling in whiskey barrels. I cannot wait to see how they taste!
Stop 4 - Modern Brewery
The final stop was at Modern Brewery. When walking into the tap room of this brewery, you will see this beautifully lit sign with their logo.
In the back, they have a small footprint for their brewing equipment. They are able to pump out a lot of beer, but they are having to work around the clock to keep up with demand. I can see them adding another location soon for brewing more beer.
I love the different styles of beer they serve.
My favorite are their stouts.
This was an amazing tour. I am looking forward in more tours hosted by the St. Louis Brewers Guild.
