Walking into the brewery:
Hand chalked logo is found on the wall when walking into the front doors.
Enjoyed a small flight.
Beers in the flight:
MASALA CHAI OATMEAL STOUT - A collaboration beer with Cathedral Square Brewing and Kirkwood Station Brewing. The base of this beer is a big, sweet and creamy Oatmeal- Milk stout. It is then spiced (Masala in Hindi) with 10 spices, the same spices you make Chai tea with. Brewmaster Dave spent a few weeks brewing in India, and had Chai tea twice a day, and this is part of the inspiration for this beer. 7.5% ABV 30 IBU
BIG FIVE-OH - A Belgian style Saison-Farmhouse Ale brewed in celebration of Brewmaster Dave's birthday, A refreshing, medium to strong fruity/spicy ale with a distinctive yellow-orange color, highly carbonated, well hopped with a dry finish. Brewed with Belgian malt and a special Belgian yeast strain that gives it it's distinct aroma and flavor, 7.8% ABV and 28 IBU
DOUBLE ENGINE IPA - An intensely hoppy, very strong "Imperial" India Pale Ale. Big resinous hop flavor and aroma dominate this beer. Medium bodied, with a semi-dry finish, and a lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. 7.8% ABV 98 IBU
MIDNIGHT TRAIN - A dark German lager also known as a Schwarzbier (Black Beer). Medium-light bodied, with a dark brown color, with ruby highlights. A balanced malt flavor, that is roasted, yet smooth from the Midnight Wheat used to brew it. 4.8% ABV and 23 IBU.
BLACKBERRY WHEAT - A uniquely light and refreshing fruit beer with a crisp, clean flavor. It is an easy drinking slightly sweet beer that is yellow in color. 4.8% ABV and 11 IBU.
Found that the Masala Chai Oatmeal Stout had a nice surprise of spice for a stout.
*Note* Pumpkin should be added to this recipe for the fall.
Ended the visit on the Sugar Creek Lager:
A refreshing American Light Lager, Sugar creek is bright, clear, golden yellow in color and contains a slightly sweet malty character with a pleasant clean finish. 4.2% ABV and 9 IBU.
This lager is light, crisp, and refreshing. Makes for a great beer for the hot days of summer.
